Who invented porcelain?
It was invented by China people, and the details can't be verified. The earliest porcelain was made of pottery.

At first, the ancients learned to burn pottery. At present, traces of ancient local people making pottery can be found all over the world. In the initial stage, as long as there is enough sticky soil and it is mixed with water, people can knead it into the shape of a vessel by hand and burn it into pottery.

The ancient pottery in China is the same as that in other parts of the world, and there is no difference in texture. Early pottery was fired by primitive ancestors in China in their own production practice. The unearthed objects prove that the earliest pottery in China was 15000 years ago or even earlier. The Yangtze River and Yellow River basins in China are the source of pottery, and the painted pottery unearthed from Yangshao culture and Banpo culture sites is very beautiful.

Porcelain firing history

The firing of China porcelain has experienced a long history of at least 3000 years, from primitive celadon to celadon, then from celadon to white porcelain, from white porcelain to colored porcelain and various glazed porcelain. During this period, it has experienced the following main development stages.

From the late Neolithic Age to the early Shang Dynasty, primitive celadon appeared. The so-called primitive celadon is immature porcelain. It was fired with porcelain clay, not clay. Because it is rough and has an immature primitive feeling, it is called primitive celadon.

By the Eastern Han Dynasty in the first century A.D., mature celadon appeared, that is, porcelain in the true sense. The area centered on Shangyu, Zhejiang Province has become the main producing area of mature celadon in China with its unique conditions. At that time, there were a large number of mature celadon with high quality.

Colored porcelain appeared in the Western Jin Dynasty. Colored porcelain is painted on porcelain, and porcelain painting appears like this. In fact, painted pottery has existed for a long time, but painted porcelain did not appear until the Western Jin Dynasty.

White porcelain began to appear in the Northern Dynasties. The appearance of white porcelain is of great significance. With white porcelain, porcelain becomes more colorful.
