Dutch speed skater Elaine Worcester won five medals (2 gold and 3 silver). Russian short track speed skater Victor Ann, Norwegian cross-country skier Marit Bjorgen and Belarusian biathlon athlete Dahoya Domlacheva each won three gold medals, tied for the most gold medals.
The China delegation sent a team of 65 people to participate in the Sochi Winter Olympics, among which Li Jianrou won the first gold medal for China and Zhang Hong won the first gold medal for the China Speed Skating Olympic Games. Zhou Yang successfully defended the women's short track speed skating1500m, and China also won 4 silvers and 2 bronzes.
