BOHAIUniversity, referred to as Boda for short, is located in Jinzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in Liaoning Province, near the Bohai Sea. It is a comprehensive university organized by Liaoning Provincial People's Government. Jinzhou Normal University and Liaoning Business School merged on April 5, 2000, and the school was tentatively named Jinzhou Normal University. In April 2003, Jinzhou Teachers College was renamed bohai university.

The school has more than 300 full-time teachers/kloc-0, including nearly 200 professors and nearly 500 doctors. Full-time teachers include academicians of China Academy of Engineering, winners of the National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars, winners of the National Hundred Million Talents Program, national outstanding teachers, winners of the Outstanding Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education, climbers of Liaoning Province, winners of the Liaoning Provincial Excellent Talents Support Program, winners of the Reserve Talents Training Program of the Liaoning Academy of Sciences, winners of the "Hundred Million Talents Project" of Liaoning Province, winners of outstanding scientific and technological talents of Liaoning Province, and winners above the provincial and ministerial level.
