About the author:

Simon Schama is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society of Literature. /kloc-0 was born in London in 1945, graduated from Cambridge University with honors at the age of 2/kloc-0, and later taught at Cambridge University and Oxford University. From 65438 to 0977, he published his first monograph, Patriots and Liberators, and won the wolfson Prize in History. 1980, he got a chair at Harvard University and then "transferred" to Columbia University as a professor. During his stay in the United States, he published many academic works one after another, which attracted great attention from the academic circles and was recognized by a large number of readers. Among them, The Dilemma of Wealth (1987) and Citizen (1989) won the The New York Times Book of the Year Award, and Landscape and Memory (1995) won the W.H. Smith Literature Award.
