The earliest known historical record in the history of China is the Shang Dynasty.

Starting from Yin, the capital of Shang Dynasty, some archaeologists discovered a large number of Oracle Bone Inscriptions's remains in Yin Ruins, and recorded various activities such as sacrifice and conquest in Shang Dynasty, indicating that the history of China began to enter the era of trust history.

It is generally believed that Chinese civilization has two direct sources, namely, the Yellow River civilization and the Yangtze River civilization, and Chinese civilization is mainly the result of the exchange, integration and sublimation of these two regional civilizations.

Some historians believe that in the history of human civilization, the definition of "historical era" is calculated from the time when characters were produced, and the previous period is called "prehistoric era".

There are legends in the history of China, such as "Fuxi created gossip" and "Cang Xie invented writing" in the period of the Yellow Emperor, but they are not documented.

Modern archaeology has discovered the carved symbols of tortoise bones in Shang Dynasty more than 3,350 years ago (BC 1350), Wen Tao about 4,000 to 5,000 years ago, and about 5,000 to 7,000 years ago.

Pingyang, the capital of Yao, is stepping out of the legendary era and becoming a faithful history. The ancient civilization of Yao and Shun is no longer a legend, and a series of evidences formed by archaeology for many years all point to the fact that Tao Temple is probably the capital of Yao.

At the press conference, Wang Wei, director of China Institute of Archaeology and chief expert of major scientific research projects in China, comprehensively introduced the major archaeological discoveries and some research results of Taosi Site in the past 37 years, especially in the recent 10 year.

Wang Wei pointed out that a series of archaeological evidence chains show that the Taosi site is quite consistent with Du Yao in terms of age, geographical location, connotation, scale and level, and the degree of civilization reflected.

He Yi, a researcher at the Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the captain of Shanxi Task Force, pointed out that Taosi was the original "China".

The earliest national society in China was not Xia Dynasty, but "Emperor Yao Bangguo", or even earlier.

"A relatively complete chain of evidence corresponding to archaeological and historical documents has been initially formed, which makes us believe that the Taosi capital site is Du Yao.

"He Shang said.

Wang Wei pointed out that although it is not yet time to draw a conclusion, there is no site so consistent with the historical records of Du Yao as Taosi.
