The history of red vegetable soup
The red cabbage soup that can be found in any western-style fast food restaurant only uses another name with more China characteristics-"Luo Songtang". Luo Song was probably transliterated from Russian, translated from Chinese in ancient times, and has been passed down to this day. Sounds like it's from Southeast Asia. There are always tomatoes, potatoes, onions, beef and so on. Among them, tomato has a strong fragrance, and the standard attractive red color is often dominated by ketchup. This is an improved version of China Luo Songtang. Shanghainese first localized it and created the name "Shanghai School", but it was completely different from Ukrainian Luo Songtang.

Tracing back to its origin, Luo Songtang (red cabbage soup) originated in Ukraine and spread widely in Russian, Polish and other eastern European countries. In the past, this soup was one of the main foods in people's lives. If there are leftovers at home, we throw them into the pot, which is a bit like stew in the northeast. In the era of war and smoke, Cossack soldiers drank hot red vegetable soup, ate large pieces of meat and drank large bowls of black wheat bread by the blazing bonfire, which gave people infinite reverie and impulse.

In 2005, in order to commemorate the classic dishes of Ukraine, the General Post Office of Ukraine issued a commemorative bag with stamps printed with Ukrainian red cabbage soup and traditional red cabbage soup ingredients.
