1. Liu Rong Temple is located in Liu Rong Road, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It is one of the most famous ancient temples in Guangzhou, and it is also called the four jungles of Buddhism in Guangzhou with Xiaoguang, Hualin and Haimin Temple.
2. The temple was founded in the third year of Liang Datong (537), formerly known as Baosi, with a history of 1400 years. Destroyed by fire at the beginning of the Northern Song Dynasty, it was rebuilt in the second year of Song Duangong (989) and renamed Jinghui Temple. In the third year of Fu Yuan (1 100), Su Dongpo, a famous writer and calligrapher, visited here. He saw six old banyan trees in the temple and happily wrote the word "six banyan trees", which was later called Liurong Temple.
3. The architectural layout of Liu Rong Temple is very special. The Flower Pagoda is located in the center of the garden, in front of the Ursa Major Hall. This retains the tower-centered architectural style of early Buddhist temples in ancient India, which is rare in most temples in China. Because, since Buddhism was introduced into China, the construction of temples has changed. Most of them take Mahayana Hall as the center, and the stupa Liu Rong Temple is built next to the central axis.
4. The whole building of the temple is centered on the Flower Pagoda, which stands in the center of the temple with a height of 57 meters and an angle of 1 1. The exterior is divided into 9 layers and 17 layers. There are more than 10 monuments such as Shanmen, Maitreya Hall, Tianwang Hall and Wei Tuo Hall, as well as Su Dongpo's portrait and "Six Honors" stone carvings. To the west of the tower is Daxiong Hall, which is 14m high and covers an area of 300 square meters. Dedicated to three giant buddhas made of brass in the second year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1663). The giant Buddha is 6 meters high and weighs 10 ton. This is the largest existing ancient bronze statue in Guangdong Province. To the south of the Hall of Ursa Major, the Dharma Hall has been rebuilt. There are Six Ancestors Hall, Guanyin Hall, Monk Shezhai, Gongde Hall and Sutra Pavilion in Rongyin Garden.
