According to Baidu Encyclopedia, Sun Shanggong traveled to Nanjing, Songjiang, Suzhou and other places, and was tried by the Ming government for opposing the study of pavilions. He fled to Muyang (now Songxian County) around 1597 and settled here until his death. Shanggong devoted his life to education. He founded many academies in Song County, and taught poetry, calligraphy, Confucianism and other cultures, which influenced many people. The reason why Shanggong came to Songxian County was mainly to escape the persecution of the Ming government and establish a professor culture in the academy. Song County, as one of the famous cultural cities at that time, Shang Gong chose to live here and inherit the culture, which also had a good historical and cultural background.
