A Brief Introduction to the Biography of the Twelve Kings of Rome
The Biography of the Twelve Kings of Rome is a book about 12 emperors before the Roman Empire, namely Caesar, Augustus, Tiberius, gaius caligula, Claudia, Nero, Garba, Otto, Vitrius, Vipamil, Titus and Titus Flavius Domitianus. This book is about people at the center of history, but Suvetonis rarely records major historical events. For example, Caesar's expedition in Gaul, he only wrote a short paragraph and passed; Varus's failure was only mentioned. What he deliberately collected seems to be the daily political activities and private lives of emperors that are not publicized in official history. Many of them are anecdotes, similar to secret history, and there are scandals and obscenities. This is actually a reflection of people's interest in the personal life of outstanding people at that time.
