History of Lengyan Temple
Langya Temple was founded in 1922 and completed in 193 1. It was built on the original site of the original Buddhist lecture hall by Master Xu.

According to legend, at that time, Master Xu from Guanzong Temple in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province came to Yingkou to preach scriptures, and he came up with the idea of building temples there, that is, to discuss with everyone and build Zen temples here one by one.

1966 September 16 Liaoning Anshan Middle School "turned out to be a corps". In the name of breaking the "four old", they broke into the Lengyan Temple in Yingkou, stripped the roof of the bell and drum tower, burned incense and burned wooden Buddha statues, and smashed clay sculptures and bronze Buddha statues. Three-year-old engravings in the Tibetan Scripture Building, 720 copies of Long Zang, one of the two domestic classics, and more than 7,200 volumes, together with other Mahayana classics 10000 volumes, as well as precious scriptures and cultural relics copied in Sri Lanka in the Tang Dynasty, were all burned, and monks paraded the streets to show the public. After 1978, Lengyan Temple was restored year by year with state funding.

From 65438 to 0979, Lengyan Temple was listed as a provincial cultural relics protection unit by Liaoning Provincial People's Government.

1985 was rebuilt under the auspices of the Municipal Missionary Association.

1997 10 2, Yingkou Langya Temple and Yingkou Buddhist Association held the inauguration ceremony of Yingkou Langya Tower.
