During the summer vacation, my parents took me to Jingchuan to play. We visited the Queen Mother Palace in the northwest of Jingchuan.
Wang Mu Palace is really spectacular!
When we came to the front door at the foot of the mountain, we looked up and saw three striking Chinese characters "Wang Mu Palace". On both sides of the front door, there is a huge stone lion guarding the sacred Wang Mu Palace.
When I entered the main entrance, I saw layers of steep stone steps standing in front of me. I struggled to get up. In less than ten minutes, I was exhausted and panting. My mother encouraged me to say, "Hold on a little longer." After listening to my mother's words, I tried my best to climb up like a charged battery. Finally, I climbed the steps and reached the top of the mountain. Looking around, you can see the beautiful scenery of Jingchuan County.
When we entered the Wang Mu Palace Temple, there were two tall and straight century-old pine trees on both sides of the courtyard, at least five or six stories high. There is a big incense burner in the center of the temple, and smoke billows inside. Dad told me: "This big incense burner is used to pay homage to the heavenly queen.
Bypassing the incense burner, we came to the Queen Mother's Hall again. Look at the queen mother sitting kindly on the lotus platform in the picture, as if nodding to the tourists!
Wang Mu Palace is not only a precious historical heritage of Gansu, but also a great contribution to the myths and legends of Pingliang!
