Chencang district is located at the western end of Qinchuan, eight hundred miles in Guanzhong, Shaanxi Province, and is the resident town of the district committee and government. Now it has jurisdiction over 18 towns, 372 administrative villages, 2,250 villagers' groups and 600,000 people (chencang district has jurisdiction over 18 towns: Guo Town, Yangping Town, Zhen Town, Panxi Town, Tianwang Town, Zhen Town, Jia Cun Town, Qiao Town, County Gong Town and Xinjie Town). Among them, County Gong Town, Xinjie Town, Pingtou Town, Xiangquan Town, Chisha Town, Tuo Town, Fenggeling Town and Hudian Town are entrusted by Xishan Working Committee.
Before this administrative division adjustment (the data is based on the simplified version in 2003): Weibin District covers an area of 502 square kilometers with a population of 320,000; Jintai District covers an area of 72 square kilometers and has a population of 260,000. Baoji county covers an area of 3,000 square kilometers and has a population of 720,000. The county people's government is located in Guo Town.
