Zhangzhuang has a long history and is located in Taihang Mountain. It has a unique geographical location. It has always been a battleground for military strategists and suffered from war. During World War II, Japanese imperialism invaded North China, and the fate of Zhangzhuang was doomed. The people were oppressed by landlords and warlords, and at the same time they were ravaged by the Japanese army. Zhangzhuang was liberated in 1945. 1946 belonged to the fifth district of Lu' an county, and 1952 revoked the district. Changzhi and Lu 'an merged at 1954, and it was named Lu 'an County, so it was called Zhangzhuang Village of Lu 'an County at that time. 1957 establish small towns (four or five villages and one township), 1958 establish southeast Shanxi. With the establishment of Huangnian Dongfeng People's Commune, 1959 Changzhi was separated from Lu 'an County, and Zhangzhuang belonged to Changzhi Dongfeng People's Commune. 1983 the people's commune was abolished, and it was directly changed to a township and renamed ma chang xiang. There are now 22 villages. In 2002, it was changed from township to town, and it was machang town (from township to town), and now it is Zhangzhuang Village, machang town.
