The development history of doll culture
The first period was before 1930s. They are made of ceramics, wood or wax. Dolls originated in Europe in the19th century, especially in Britain, France and Germany. Through their clothes, hairstyles and shoes, we can know the fashion of19th century.

The second period, the mid-20th century, mostly came from the heyday of American doll manufacturing, that is, before the doll industry moved to China. Most of them are produced between 1930- 1980. Generally, there are hard plastic dolls, gelatin dolls (or celluloid dolls, not sure here), and early leather dolls. Most of them are used as toys for children. Dolls in this period (the second period) can learn about the history of American doll manufacturing, and companies such as Mrs. Alexander and Ideal can also learn about the fashion of the 20th century. (The last period), from the 1980s to the present, compared with children's toys, dolls in this period can be regarded as dolls collected by adults. It is a new phenomenon. They are usually produced by the following companies: Ashton Drake, Madame Alexander, Tonner Dolls and so on. These dolls are usually a little artistic-carefully carved and perfectly decorated until they are finally finished.

They are not usually used for fun, although many adults dress up their dolls, put on clothes, do some decorations and dye their hair. Some dolls are handmade-they are really works of art, and some dolls are generally designed and sold in the United States, but produced in China ~
