Weifang, formerly known as Weizhou and Weixian, also known as Du Yuan, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, a national second-class big city, and a regional central city of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration confirmed by the State Council. Located in the west of Shandong Peninsula, it is connected with Qingdao and Yantai in the east, Zibo and Dongying in the west, Linyi and Rizhao in the south and Laizhou Bay in the Bohai Sea in the north.

Weifang belongs to the north temperate monsoon region, with its back to the sea. Influenced by Eurasia and the Pacific Ocean, it has a continental climate with warm temperate monsoon and semi-humid climate, with a degree of continental formation of more than 50%.
