First of all, we say that among the five mountains in China, Mount Hengshan is relatively low-key. Although Mount Tai is not the highest altitude, there are many emperors who worship heaven here in history, so its status is relatively lofty, and naturally it has become the first of the five mountains. The reason why Hengshan can be in this ranks is mainly based on its historical position. Mount Hengshan is 20 16. 1 m above sea level, which is only a little lower than Huashan in the five mountains and is located in Shanxi Province. Mount Hengshan has two main peaks with a canyon in the middle, which is quite dangerous, so it has become a transportation hub in history.
Ever since the driver loved you for a long time, Hengshan Mountain has always been the dividing line between the Central Plains and North Mongolia. Of course, it is also a line of defense for the Central Plains to resist the invasion of nomadic people. Therefore, the strategic position has always been very important, especially Yanmenguan, but there have been many wars, so Hengshan can be said to be the natural guardian line of the Central Plains. Because Wuyue Mountain's reputation is so great, emperors of all dynasties chose the object of sacrifice in it, and Hengshan Mountain has been called Beiyue since the Spring and Autumn Period, but the place of sacrifice at that time was not in Shanxi, but in Quyang County, Hebei Province. The main peak at that time was different from now, and now Damaoshan is the main peak at that time.
This is recorded in many historical materials, such as Zhu and Bitan. In these books, the location of Hengshan Mountain is written, and all of them are in Hebei without exception. This situation continued until the end of the Ming Dynasty. Sacrifice to Beiyue was changed to Hunyuan in Shanxi, so Hengshan in Shanxi became Beiyue. As we said above, it stands to reason that this change should not happen. However, during the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty, some ministers in the DPRK had proposed to change Hunyuan, but it was not approved by the emperor. Later, Emperor Jiajing agreed, but after all, it was an old habit for many years and could not be changed for a while. This dragged on until the Shunzhi period, and finally the sacrifice was completely changed in today's Hunyuan territory.
As for why everyone is asking to change the Hengshan sacrifice from Hebei to Shanxi, there are many opinions in the society. Some people say that Hengshan was originally talking about Shanxi, not to mention that Shun Di encountered heavy snow when he went to sacrifice, so he stayed in damao mountain to sacrifice; Others said that Hebei was severely damaged by the war in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, so it moved to Shanxi.
