Do you know the battle between the tyrannical Qin Shihuang and Mrs Xiang from a distance?
Xiangjiang River is in the south of the Yangtze River and flows into Dongting Lake from south to north via Changsha. The beautiful scenery and rich products along the coast have left many touching stories in the long history of China for 5,000 years.

Shun Di died in Cangwu (now Yongzhou, Hunan Province) during his southern tour. His two concubines, Huang, were very sad when they heard that. They searched for the past all the way, cried and threw themselves into the river. At that time, the Chu people were very sorry for them and buried them on Junshan Mountain in Dongting Lake. Later generations named it Xiangjiang Water God, and posthumous title was called "Lady Xiang" or "Princess Xiang". Scholars of all ages were fascinated by this beautiful scenery and legend, leaving poems in succession. For example, when Du Fu, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, passed by Dongting Lake, he wrote "Mrs. Xiang Temple", "Cangwu is full of hate and tears are stained from the clouds", praising Mrs. Xiang for a fair death.

However, it is such affectionate and righteous words, but the beautiful and kind-hearted Mrs. Xiang fought a war from a distance about two thousand years later and staged an ancient version of "Guan Yu vs. Qin Qiong", which is ironic. Why is this happening?

This also starts from Qin Shihuang's southern tour.

After Qin Shihuang unified the six countries, he made many cruises in China in order to publicize his imperial power and strengthen his rule over the whole country.

On one occasion, he crossed Hengshan Mountain in Nanyue and went down Xiangjiang River. When he arrived at Lady Xiang's shrine, there was a sudden strong wind and rough waves, which made it almost impossible for him to cross the river. He called the accompanying doctor and asked, "Who is the water god of Xiangjiang River?" The doctor told the truth that it was Yao's daughter and Shun's wife.

The mighty Qin Shihuang always felt that he had made great contributions, surpassed the Three Emperors and Five Emperors, and was the first person in the world. Now I suddenly found this Shun Di's concubine. When she saw the emperor coming, she not only showed a warm welcome, but also showed disrespect for him, which caused him to almost capsize and suddenly flew into a rage. He ordered 3000 prisoners to cut down all the trees on Junshan Mountain until the ochre soil was exposed, and then he left.
