Discovery and exploration history of Damiao iron mine
1929 iron ore was discovered in Ledamiao, Sun Jianchu and Wang Yuelun, and the estimated iron ore reserves were 1 1.34 million tons.

From 1934 to 1945, the Japanese army carried out preliminary exploration and mining and snatched 96,068 tons of ore.

From 1952 to 1957, the official exploration of Damiao Iron Mine has accumulated 39.49 million tons of proven iron ore reserves.

From 1954 to 1956, the geophysical team of the Ministry of Heavy Industry carried out 1:2000 and 1: 10000 geomagnetic surveys, and found 8 magnetic anomalies such as Damiao and Montenegro, and delineated the mineralization distribution area.

1959 carried out an aeromagnetic survey of1:65438+100000, and found Tiemagou (M- 17a), Damiao (M- 18) and Heishan (m-) around Damiao.

After years of exploration, many large, medium and small vanadium-titanium magnetite mines have been discovered in Damiao area, Yaqingdi, Dawa, Maying, Luoguozigou, Wulongsugou and Tiematagou.
