The history of Damao Mountain
Damaoshan was called Hengshan Mountain in ancient times, and its history can be traced back to the legendary Three Emperors and Five Emperors. According to Records of the Historical Records of Guan Chan, Shun went to Hengshan to offer sacrifices. During the reign of Emperor Wen of Han Dynasty, Hengshan was renamed Changshan because of taboo. When Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, Beiyue Temple was established in Quyang, Hebei Province. In the first year of Xuan Di (before 6 1), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty named five mountains, of which Mount Hengshan was Beishan. During the Northern Wei Dynasty in Xuan Wudi, Beiyue Temple was built in Quyang County at the southern foot of damao mountain, and later generations mostly sacrificed Beiyue in Beiyue Temple. During the Northern Song Dynasty, damao mountain was once the border of Song and Liao Dynasties. 1 193 The northern part of Quyang County and other counties are located in Fuping County. Since then, damao mountain no longer belongs to Quyang County, but Beiyue Temple is still in Quyang County. In the middle and late Ming Dynasty, there was a debate about whether Beiyue was in Quyang, Hebei Province or Hunyuan, Shanxi Province, but Hengshan was still in Quyang, Hebei Province. Until July (1660) in the seventeenth year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty, Beiyue was changed to Hengshan Mountain in Hunyuan, Shanxi Province.
