Named after "fertile soil, no flood and drought at the age of 20", it is known as "the blessed land in the south of the Yangtze River" and is one of the birthplaces of Wu culture.
Let's look at the four ancient towns vaguely preserved in Changshu and look for the charm of the old Jiangnan water town.
How many of these ancient towns in Changshu have you been to?
Changshu in the world, blessed land and guri. Guli Town is an ancient historical and cultural town with profound cultural heritage. There is also Qushi Qintie Copper Sword Building, one of the four major libraries in China in the Qing Dynasty.
Changshu is rich in books, which reached its peak in Qing Dynasty. At that time, there were more than 200 large and small libraries in Changshu, the most outstanding of which was Qintie Bronze Sword Museum, which was one of the four private libraries in China in the Qing Dynasty and was famous for its high quality and large quantity of books. Qintie bronze sword library was built in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, with a building area of 285 square meters and a history of more than 200 years. Formerly known as "Tian Yuzhai", it was founded by Qu. The calligraphers of the Five Dynasties were indifferent to fame and fortune, and took books and reading as their pleasure. Qu Yong, the son of the second generation of Qu family, is eclectic about ancient ding and ancient Yi seal, especially about an iron piano and a bronze sword, so he is called the iron piano bronze sword building.
According to the records of Qin Chuanzhi, a series of local chronicles of the Song and Yuan Dynasties, it is called "Guli Village" because of its low terrain, dense river network, sparsely populated and perennial vegetation. Towns were formed in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. The "Collected Works of Mr. Tao Tui 'an" began to use the word "one" and changed its name to "Yi Li Village". It was not until the spring of the 13th year of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty (1833) that Zhang Gongqun used the word "Guli" in his inscription "Guli Renfeng".
Walking into the ancient town of Guri, time seems to have returned to hundreds of years ago. Today, on the archway of Donghu Academy in the ancient town, the word "Guri Renfeng" is also written. Looking from a distance, Wenchang Pavilion, built by water, is particularly magnificent and beautiful, with Donggang River in the east and Qingduntang in the south.
"Eighteen Towns in Dongxiang, the first town in Meili", an ancient town in Meili with a long cultural history, has been highly respected since ancient times. Speaking of the origin of Meili, we have to say a history: In 908, King Qian Liu of wuyue sent two military commanders to be stationed here, and the daily needs of the army formed a market, and the prosperity of the market formed a town. These two military commanders, one named Mei Shizhong, one named Li Kaishan and the other named Yin Meili, were all named after their surnames. Meilianjian Town has a history of 1 100 years.
The Jusha Pagoda in Meili Ancient Town, "The sky is seven levels high and the octagonal bell rings", is the Jusha Baifu Pagoda built in Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty, with eight sides and seven floors and a height of 32.8 meters, which is a symbol of Meili's history and culture.
The area of 5 1. 1 hectare near the ancient pagoda is designated as the ancient town protection area. Only the core protected area has more than 82,000 square meters of traditional buildings of Ming, Qing and Republic of China, including Yuehe Bridge, Anti-Japanese Carved Fort, Liu Shentang, Ai Ri Lu Jing and so on. Yongjinqiao, Fengjiamin House, Lujiaminzhai, etc. These traditional buildings are characterized by front shops and back houses, front streets and back rivers, and have the architectural style of Su School. Ancient streets, pagodas, ancient bridges, ancient rivers, ancient trees and ancient wells are dotted among them, showing the simplicity and elegance of Mei.
Tang ancient town, formerly known as Quiet, also known as Yuxi. In the Ming Dynasty, it was invested by the Tang family, hence the name. The ancient town of Tang Cheng straddles the banks of Youjing River, with Jinzhuangjing in the east and Yu Lian Jing in the west. Because the market town is located in the southeast of Changshu, it is commonly known as Dong Tang City (Xitang City is now Zhangjiagang City). In the old days, Tang City was prosperous and rich, known as "Jintang City" and one of the four major market towns in Changshu. "Jintang City" is a reputation corresponding to "Yinmei", which originated from rice and plum cotton in Tang City and is an important distribution center for the trading and circulation of agricultural and sideline products in Changshu.
The bustling streets in the ancient town are very distinctive. The street is paved with slabs about 1.2 meters long and 30 centimeters wide, commonly known as slate street, which is about 400 meters long. These stone slabs were paved in the Ming Dynasty. On both sides of the street are buildings of the Qing Dynasty, which are generally front shops and back houses, with upper rooms and lower bunks. Most shops are open for business, so you can remove the door panel and open the door for business. Lanterns are hung everywhere on the slate street, and the classical charm of China Red is particularly amazing.
Fumin Temple, an ancient town in the Tang Dynasty, was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, rebuilt by Nijia and written by Zhao during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty.
Youjing runs through the market towns in the Tang Dynasty, connecting Changshu in the north, Kunshan and Shanghai in Nantong, and there are three large stone arch bridges connecting the east and west banks on the river. In the distance are Beixinqiao, a wooden bridge built in the 15th year of Qing Qianlong (1750) and Daoguang three-hole stone arch bridge. Beixinqiao is 7 meters high and 3.5 meters wide; The middle arch has a span of 12m and a height of 5.9m The left and right holes are 8m each, and the passage is 51m.. The North New Bridge is vertically connected in sections, and the words "Liu, Zhang, Lu Danming, Peng, Qu Yongnan, Tao Guancheng, etc." are engraved on the arch plate of the bridge railing. This bridge is one of the three remaining three-hole stone arch bridges in Changshu. Well-preserved and magnificent, it is also a must-see attraction in the ancient town of Tang.
Fushan Mountain is located in the northwest of Changshu City, and Fushantang flows vertically through the east of the market town. Fukuyama is famous for its mountains, and Fukuyama is a temple mountain, which looks like a cauldron. Its real name is Busan, also known as Busan, and later generations call it Fukuyama with its homonym.
Fushan has a long history. Nansha Township was established in the Han Dynasty, and the Salt Supervision Department was also established. In the seventh year of Jin Xiankang (34 1), Nansha County was established. In the sixth year of Liang Datong, Shaxian County was changed to Changshu County, which was governed by the county. In the seventh year of Tang Wude (624), Changshu County moved to Haicheng (now Yushan Town), but Fushan is still one of the military sites in the south of the Yangtze River. In the past dynasties, heavy troops were stationed, and castles such as Nansha City, Jinfeng City, Fushan Old Town and Fushan General City were built successively.
Today, there is a "South Street" on the south side of Fushan ancient town, with a total length of about 500 meters and a width of about 3.5 meters, which is paved with gravel. There is an ancient temple named "Shuangzhong Temple" beside the street, which was built in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, rebuilt in Zhang Guangdou in Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty and added in Qianlong period. Mainly Zhang Yafu and Lei Wanchun in the Tang Dynasty, as well as Zhang Xun and Xu Yuan. The famous ancient streets are Zhaozhai and Caojialou, both buildings in the early years of the Republic of China, and their charm still exists.
