According to legend, in the Qin Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago, there was a loving couple named Meng Jiangnv and Fan Xiliang, who had lived a sweet and loving life. Later, Qin Shihuang recruited a large number of migrant workers to build the Great Wall, and Fan Xiliang naturally became one of the tens of millions of migrant workers.

After Fan Xiliang was taken away, Meng Jiangnv dragged her feet every day in Lacrimosa. Crying for a whole year, still no news of her husband. Meng Jiangnv misses Fan Xiliang very much. In order to see her husband, she decided to go to the Great Wall to find her husband herself. Meng Jiangnv didn't know how long it would take to walk to the Great Wall, but she got the news a month ago that Fan Xiliang was exhausted.

Meng Jiangnv burst into tears when she learned of her husband's death. She beat the Great Wall hard and cried until the sun and the moon were dark, the autumn wind wailed and the waves surged. When Meng Jiangnv was crying, she suddenly heard a loud noise. The Great Wall just repaired actually collapsed and stretched for miles.

The influence of later generations

The legend of Meng Jiangnu crying at the Great Wall is widely circulated among the people. Her husband, Fan Xiliang, was recruited by Wang Wei to build the Great Wall (now the Great Wall of the Warring States at the junction of Weihui and Huixian). He died of fatigue and hunger and was buried under the Great Wall.

Meng Jiangnv found her husband in Chishan section of Weihui, and cried to the Great Wall, which moved the world. The Great Wall collapsed, revealing her husband's bones. Up to now, its story has been circulated in Wainao Village, Chishan Township, Weihui. You can see Meng Jiangnu crying down the Great Wall on the mountain. Xinxiang City has Mengjiangnv River, Mengjiangnv Road and Mengjiangnv Bridge.
