Pan' an Town is located at the western end of Gangu County (east longitude 105 04' north latitude 34 43'), adjacent to luomen town of Wushan County, with a length of 13.5km from east to west, a width of 8.78km from north to south and a distance of 23km from the county seat. Longhai Railway, G30 Lianhuo Expressway and 3 16 National Highway run through the whole territory.

Vegetables and fruits are the leading industries. The total area is 17 1.68 square kilometers, and the cultivated land area is 77,657 mu, with per capita 1.06 mu, including Sichuan water13,227 mu and mountainous area of 64,330 mu. Town * * * governs 52 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committee, 15788 households and 74 192 people. 1999 was approved by the provincial government as "pilot town for comprehensive reform of small towns in Gansu Province", was awarded as "demonstration area of township enterprises in Gansu Province (deputy county level)" by the Provincial Bureau of Township Enterprises in 2000, was awarded as "pilot town for development and reform of small towns in Gansu Province" by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission in June 2006, and was awarded as "key town for construction of small towns in Gansu Province" by the Provincial Construction Department in August 2006. Pan 'an Town is a big vegetable town with an area of 1.96 million mu. In 2009, the town's GDP reached 550 million yuan and the per capita net income of farmers reached 3,300 yuan.
