First, the historical background of the emergence, evolution and development of disciplines
In 1950s, Zeng Hejie and other teachers offered the course "History of Economic Theory".
In the mid-1970s, influenced by the political struggle of "criticizing the law and criticizing Confucianism", a group of scholars engaged in the study of Confucian and legal economic thoughts, which objectively promoted the academic research and discipline construction of the history of economic thought in China.
At the beginning of 1977, the school set up the Economic Research Office, under which the China Modern Economic Thought History Research Group was established. The group has a huge camp and abundant talents, including Hou Houji, Wu, Zhang Jiaxiang, Liu Qifa, Zhang, Wu, Wen Haoran, Wen Guangyi, Zhao and other scholars, with Hou Houji as the leader.
1979, after the Economic Research Office was reorganized into the Economic Research Institute, the China Economic Thought History Research Office was established, consisting of Hou Houji, Wu, and Zhang Jiaxiang.
1980 China society for the history of economic thought was established, and Professor Hou Houji was elected as a director.
1982, the laboratory began to recruit graduate students majoring in the history of economic thought in China.
1983, this major was approved as a master's degree point.
This discipline is one of several disciplines that recruited graduate students majoring in the history of China's economic thought earlier in China and obtained the right to confer master's degree.
1984 published the first draft of China's Modern Economic Thought in three volumes (1100,000 words).
The book won the first prize of 1986 outstanding achievements in social sciences in Hubei province, 1987 excellent teaching material award of the State Education Commission, and 1988 honorary award of excellent teaching material of colleges and universities affiliated to the Ministry of Finance.
Therefore, the editorial board of Encyclopedia of China invited teachers of this discipline to write the entry of China's Economic Thought Volume.
At that time, the research team of China's history of economic thought in the school was well organized, with four full professors, which was the highest in the country and had fruitful academic achievements. It was known as one of the three centers of China's history of economic thought.
Since the early 1990s, with the retirement of several old professors and the transfer of several young and middle-aged academic backbones, the research on the history of China's economic thought has gradually entered a trough.
From 65438 to 0993, Professor Zhang Jiaxiang presided over the national social science fund project "The Historical Development of China's Monetary Theory".
65438-0994 The "Annual Meeting of the History of China Economic Thought" jointly sponsored by our school and Wuhan University was held in Wuhan.
200 1 The History of Monetary Thought in China, the final research result of the project "Historical Development of China's Monetary Theory", was published (1.27 million words).
In 2000, Professor Zhang Jiaxiang was re-elected as the director of China Economic Thought Society (1988) and Associate Professor Zou was elected as the director of China Economic Thought History Society.
In 200 1 year, Professor Chen Yinque was transferred from Huazhong Normal University and was approved as a doctoral supervisor in the history of economic thought. In 2002, the major began to recruit the first batch of doctoral students.
At the turn of the century, the discipline of the history of economic thought has ushered in new development opportunities.
Second, the basic achievements of discipline construction
This topic has made outstanding achievements in the following five aspects:
(A) the history of modern economic thought in China.
The first draft of China Modern Economic Thought History (3 volumes, 654.38+0.06 million words) was edited by Professor Hou Houji and Professor Wu, edited by Zhang Jiaxiang, Liu Qifa and Zhang, and completed by Heilongjiang People's Publishing House in the early 1980s (654.38+0.982-654.38+0.984).
After the publication of this book, Hu Jichuang, Wu, and other famous scholars in China's economic and ideological circles thought that the book was "rich in content and complete in system", "clear in viewpoint and clear in exposition, with many words that had not been said before" and "made valuable work in the study of the history of modern economic thought".
The publication of this book has had a wide influence in academic circles, and its academic views have been widely quoted by academic circles, thus establishing the center and important position of this discipline in the country.
(B) Study on the history of China's monetary thought.
The research on the history of China's monetary thought embodies the painstaking efforts of four generations of scholars in this discipline.
As early as the mid-1970s, Professor Hou Houji began to collect historical materials about the history of China's monetary thought.
During the period of 1984, he and other scholars in the research office of the history of economic thought in China made a plan to jointly compile the History of Monetary Thought in China.
Later, due to special reasons, only Professor Hou Houji insisted on research.
199 1 year, Professor Hou Houji died unfortunately, leaving about 2 million words of special materials.
1993 The project "Historical Development of China's Monetary Theory" funded by the National Social Science Fund and declared by Professor Zhang Jiaxiang was approved, and then a research group of more than 10 was formed.
The research group consists of three generations of scholars: the first generation is Professor Zhang Jiaxiang; Professor Wan Anpei, Dr. Zou and Associate Professor Hu are the second generation; The graduate students majoring in the history of economic thought in China are the third generation.
After six years' unremitting efforts, the members of the research group finally wrote the History of China's Monetary Thought with 654.38+0.27 million words, which was published by Hubei People's Publishing House in 2006.
This book is the first general history of China's monetary thought in China. It quotes many historical materials that have not been quoted before and fills many academic gaps.
(C) the spread of Marxist economic theory in China.
1993 The book "Dissemination, Application and Development of Marxist Economic Theory in China" (400,000 words) edited by Professor Zhang Jiaxiang and other members of China Economic Thought History Research Office was published by Henan People's Publishing House.
This book is China's first academic monograph on the spread, application and development of Marxist economic theory in China.
(D) History of China's economic management thoughts.
Representative works in this field include Zou's Guan Zi and the Wisdom of Commercial Warfare (published by Hubei People's Publishing House 1996), Guan Zi (published by Taiwan Province Hong Wen Pipe Co., Ltd. 200 1), Confucian Business Code (published by Hubei People's Publishing House 1999), Professor Wan An and Guan Zi.
In addition, Professor Wan Anping and Professor Zou have published many academic papers on the history of China's economic management thought in Journal of Zhongnan University of Finance and Economics, Business Economic Management and Journal of Beijing University of Commerce.
(V) Research on the theoretical history of the company
200 1, Zou's book "Research on the Changes of Company Theory" based on his doctoral thesis was published in Hunan People's Publishing House "Series of Young and Middle-aged Economists", which is the first book in China to systematically discuss the theoretical history of Chinese and foreign companies.
Third, the basic experience and lessons of discipline construction and development
The discipline of the history of China's economic thought in our school sprouted in the early 20th century and was formed in the 1930s.
It is the basic subject of theoretical economics.
This discipline has a very unique value for building the cornerstone of economic theory with China characteristics and exploring the management model with China characteristics. It plays an irreplaceable role in perfecting the teaching content of economics and cultivating economic talents with wide knowledge.
In the 50 years' development, the discipline of China's history of economic thought has had its glory and its trough.
Historical experience shows that the development of this discipline needs two conditions: first, external conditions, such as preferential policies of the school, including giving sufficient research time, setting up specialized research institutions and establishing relatively stable and capable research teams.
In the 1980s, an important reason for the remarkable achievements of this discipline was that there was a special research room with a group of specialized researchers.
Under the condition of market economy, China's history of economic thought and other basic theoretical disciplines are facing severe challenges.
Creating and providing relaxed academic research conditions and environment is particularly important for promoting the development of this discipline.
Second, internal conditions, researchers should have academic dedication and extensive knowledge.
Scholars who study the history of China's economic thought must have good comprehensive qualities in economics, history and philology.
On the other hand, it is very difficult to publish papers and works on the history of China's economic thought (there is no special publication in China), so the "output" is low.
The asymmetry between input and output makes many people linger in front of the research hall of the history of economic thought in China.
One of the important reasons why the research on the history of China's economic thought was brilliant in the 1980s was that there were a group of scholars who were indifferent to fame and fortune, devoted themselves to studying and learned a lot.
Their moral articles are exemplary.
