I have been thinking that if one day, after I earn enough money and have no luxury and desire for material life, I want to find a field with my beloved, grow flowers and vegetables by myself, listen to cicadas and rest my body and mind.
It turns out that in this world, next to Beijing, the material capital, there is such a paradise and such a worldly master. Master Long Zang, who graduated from Tsinghua University, had a very successful career, but he resolutely donated his company to employees. He spent 20 million yuan to buy a mountain and renamed it Zen Village, where he cut his hair and retired.
Just a few kilometers away from the bustling city, turn a corner and enter the mountain along the stone-paved path, and you will find a different scene. Trees are lush, streams are gurgling, and bamboo fence gates come and go. The deeper you go, the more unique you are. Stone Buddha statues can be seen everywhere, safe and quiet; The wooden fence full of self-cultivation sentences is strewn at random; The gurgling spring gushes out and flows quietly; The freshness and tranquility after the rain set off a cool world.
The house is built on the mountain, with wooden floors, wooden walls and floor-to-ceiling glass. When encountering a boulder that is difficult to move, simply build it according to the stone, half inside the house and half outside the house, which has a unique flavor. There are tatami, toilet, a small table, two rattan mats, some Buddhist instruments, and nothing else. Everything is pastoral, planting vegetables, ringing bells, burning incense and worshiping Buddha, cultivating self-cultivation and meditation every day, and living a Zen life without desire and inaction.
Master Long Zang is easy-going and very young, which is far from the lofty old man in my heart before. His Zen Buddhism is very special, perhaps because he has been baptized by the secular, perhaps because he has enjoyed a thorough world outside the mountain, and he is very kind. I will not talk about those profound Buddhist scriptures, nor will I try to instill those lofty things that are divorced from reality. His Zen Buddhism is approachable and makes people calm.
The friend who led us there is his disciple, a successful person who still lives in society. The friends who go with them are also very prestigious in society, and basically belong to the upper class we recognize. In Zen Village, I also met other disciples of Master and some volunteers who went to work. There are well-known TV hosts, business celebrities worth tens of millions, famous teachers in the art field and confidential government officials. Everyone, with a humble heart, listens to the master's sermon to wash away the noise of the soul. The mountain spring is sweet, and the vegetarian meal is elegant. Listening to the teacher's five precepts and tasting the vegetables grown in the mountains is happy and calm. Spring water makes tea, which tastes sweet and mellow. Listening to the sound of raindrops hitting the rocks, this afternoon is very quiet.
Maybe my heart is too calm and I think a lot. In fact, in terms of seniority, I have absolutely no right to enjoy this peace. I want to work hard in the world outside the Peach Blossom Garden, and I want to be busy and worried about material life. I took a break from my busy schedule, enjoyed the spiritual cultivation of people with sufficient material world, and felt the ideal spiritual world in advance. However, the economic base determines the superstructure. Anyway, now I can only envy and look forward to this peace, and then work hard for this leisure.
