2. Cai Xiang (10 12- 1067), a native of Xianyou County, Putian City, Fujian Province, started his career at the age of 19. He is upright, honest, patriotic and beneficial to the people. He was a politician, a writer, an agronomist and a calligrapher who advocated reform in ancient China.
3. Zheng Chenggong (1624- 1662) was a famous national hero in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. His real name is Sen, and he is from Shijing Village, Nan 'an County, Fujian Province.

7. Sa Zhenbing (1859- 1952), a native of Fuzhou, Fujian. A famous navy general.

10. Chen Jingrun (1933— 1996), a famous mathematician in China, graduated from the Department of Mathematics of Xiamen University. The publication of 1966 "Table even number is the sum of the products of a prime number and no more than two prime numbers" (referred to as "1+2") became a milestone in the study of Goldbach's conjecture. He is the author of Elementary Number Theory.
