How long is the history of Changzhou?
When you talk about the history of a city, you must first understand two concepts. 1. What does it mean to tell the history of a city (place)? First, it refers to the history of administrative system, when to set up a city and when to set up a county; Second, it refers to the history of building a town, and when the town was built. Second, talk about how long the history of the city is and what proof it depends on. Generally speaking, the textual research of history, first, depends on physical evidence, that is, there must be physical remains on the ground and underground, which is scientifically recognized; The second is to prove history by literature, that is, to have exact written records, places (addresses) and dates. According to the above requirements, there are three ways to express the history of Changzhou. First, Changzhou has a history of 6,000 years of civilization. There are Weidun, Sidun sites and unearthed cultural relics as evidence. Our ancestors lived and produced here more than 6000 years ago. Second, Changzhou has a history of three thousand years. Taking the canoe unearthed from the Yancheng site in Wujin as evidence, it was scientifically recognized as a relic of 3000 years ago. Third, Changzhou has a written history of more than 2,500 years. In 547 BC, Ji Zha, the son of the State of Wu, was named as the son of Yanling in history, which was recorded in The Book of Rites, Zuo Zhuan and Historical Records of the Western Han Dynasty in the Spring and Autumn Period. Before Ji Zha was sealed in Yanling in the Spring and Autumn Period, the history of Changzhou could not be verified. Now it can only be recorded according to historical records, which is the earliest place name of Changzhou and the earliest feudal city. It can also be said that this is the beginning of Changzhou's earliest organizational system and administrative system. In my opinion, the history of Changzhou is better in ancient and modern times: Changzhou has a written history of more than 2500 years.
