Legend of Guanyin Lake in Xiaochang?
According to legend, in ancient times, because of the beautiful mountains and rivers in this area, everything was clustered; The climate is harmonious and flowers are in full bloom. It can be seen that there are two miles and one cliff, and the pool under the cliff is as bright as a mirror; Three miles and one hole, the hole is unfathomable and contains the essence. At that time, there were eight kinds of monsters in Guanyin Lake area: lion, elephant, dragon, snake, turtle, monkey, magpie and fox. Lions, elephants, dragons and snakes devour people and animals, endangering life, while turtles, monkeys, magpies and foxes endanger plants, harass human beings and make people and animals restless. At that time, there was a soldier here, Yang Ziyan, who was good at shooting and was called the reincarnation of Hou Yi. He usually dares to kill fierce birds and beasts that endanger his life, and his archery hits every shot. However, his kung fu is powerless against eight kinds of monsters. Yang went to ask his master "Dong Xian" to treat him. Dong Xian said, "How many years have these eight monsters practiced? No one can subdue them. I'll ask Master Guanyin to surrender. " Guanyin Bodhisattva came here, and Yun Zhou waved his hand; Call: "When will you wait for the eight elites?" Lions, elephants, dragons, snakes, turtles and fox spirits quickly fell at the foot of Guanyin, and the magpie god spread his wings and fled. At the finger of Guanyin Bodhisattva, the magpie god fell on the hill and turned into a stone magpie, which is now the magpie stone; The monkey was stubborn and jumped into the clouds to escape. Guanyin bodhisattva sings willow branches and recites the true scriptures. The monkey fell into the Liu Jiahe River from the clouds. A few years later, a towering cypress tree grew there, which looked like a monkey. People call it monkey cypress. Except the fox spirit, the other six spirits were sprinkled with pure water by Guanyin Bodhisattva, and turned into the present Lion Mountain, Xiangshan Mountain, Guishan Mountain, Snake Mountain and Wolong Peninsula. Guanyin was moved by the fox spirit, thinking that they had practiced for more than 1000 years, and put them back in the cave to continue their practice. Later, the Eight Fox Immortals really cultivated into immortals and ascended to heaven from Tiantai Mountain. Huxian Cave still exists under the North Peak.

Guanyin bodhisattva surrendered to the monster. Here, one side is pure and peaceful. Later generations built a temple called Guanyin Pavilion to worship the Great Immortal. Because the temple site is built on a big stone, it is also called Guanyin Rock. The landscape here is peculiar, showing eight natural scenes, such as rhinoceros playing on the moon, scarab floating and sinking, giant door covering the account, Fangshan horizontal screen, lion whistling east, toad singing north, labyrinth waterfall and rooftop cloud, with vivid images.
