After flowering and suspension of production, the development history of Skoda Speedmaster models.
The protagonist of this article is Skoda's superb. As a model that has experienced ups and downs, Superb has gone through 85 years of history. Nowadays, the Speedmaster, who is over 80 years old, revived in the second spring and became the master model of Skoda. Such a tortuous and bizarre experience actually witnessed the history of Skoda brand.

Supeb birth background

In Czechoslovakia in 1930s, Praga, Tetola and Skoda were the three giants in the automobile industry. I believe we don't need to introduce them. Everyone knows them. In fact, if you are an elderly Beijinger, you should have heard of Praga. 1950 Beijing, China, was transformed into a Praga truck bus.

Praga and Tetora occupied a large market in the Czech Republic at that time. Just like Toyota and Honda in Guangdong, Skoda planned to launch a high-end model Superb in order to compete with them.

Great (1934- 1949)

1934 Skoda mass-produced Superb, using a 2.5-liter inline six-cylinder engine and matching a 3-speed or 4-speed gearbox. The maximum output power can reach 55 horsepower and the top speed can reach110 km/h.

1937, Skoda entrusted Sodoka to redesign the body of Superb, replacing it with a 2.9-liter inline six-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 65 horsepower.

1939, Skoda launched Superb 4000, equipped with 4L V8 engine, with maximum output power 135 horsepower and maximum speed135 km/h/h. ..

During World War II, Skoda Supeb also launched a military version, which was used as an advanced official vehicle, a battlefield commuter vehicle and a military ambulance. However, after World War II, everything was in ruins, and people could not afford the high-end model Supeb, so they finally stopped production at 1949.

The First Superb in Skoda Volkswagen Era (200 1-2008)

1989 due to the drastic changes in eastern Europe, the Czech social and economic system collapsed and reorganized, and Skoda also faced a serious economic crisis. At this time, Volkswagen threw an olive branch to Skoda and was willing to help Skoda in terms of capital and technology, so Skoda became a sub-brand of Volkswagen.

After finding the backer, Skoda began to re-establish its own model product front. Skoda's idea is to launch a luxurious and practical model to tell the world that Skoda is still alive, so Superb, which was discontinued after the war, became the first choice.

Due to the great success of Volkswagen's Passat B5 at that time, Skoda revived Superb by imitating B5. The first generation Superb was built with the extended PL45 platform made by Passat B5, and its appearance also adopted the design style of Passat B5. Passat B5*** is also used in the interior and three big pieces, which is basically a new standard Passat B5.

It is worth mentioning that although the first generation of Superb did not enter China, the Passat Yu Ling launched by Shanghai Volkswagen in 2005 was produced according to Superb.

The second generation Superb(2008-20 15)

Skoda successfully resurrected Superb by recreating Passat B5, and tried its best to get rid of the title of recreating Passat. Therefore, although the second generation Superb is still based on Passat's PQ34 platform, its appearance has obviously changed.

Moreover, in order to make consumers think that Superb and Passat are essentially unrelated, the second generation Superb adopts a two-stage tailgate cover. The body design is a hatchback like Ming Rui, but the tailgate can be opened only with a small opening like a car tailgate or completely opened like a hatchback. At the same time, in order to show the grade, this tailgate is still an electric suction door.

The second generation Superb has a hatchback design to ensure practicality, but it also pays attention to luxury. The vehicle is equipped with cruise control, automatic parking, rear seat heating, xenon headlights, touch screen and other configurations.

In terms of power, Skoda has never had its own power system, so there is no doubt that it uses Volkswagen's EA/KOOC-0//KOOC-0//KOOC-0/.4t engine and EA888/KOOC-0/.8t engine, and the top model is the legendary 3.6-liter VR6 engine.

In 2009, SAIC Skoda introduced Superb into China market, named Haorui, and the price was 654.38+07.99-250.90 million yuan.

Third generation Superb(20 15 to present)

In fact, the second generation Superb still vaguely has the shadow of Passat. By 20 15, the third generation Superb is completely different from Passat in appearance. Designers of the third generation Superb adopted the diamond cutting design of VisionC concept car, which made the new generation Superb more angular and aggressive.

The third generation Superb is based on Volkswagen's latest MQB platform, and its measurements and wheelbase have become larger. The iconic hatchback and the most popular short duck tail design make the new generation Superb more fashionable, but it is a pity that the two-stage tailgate of the previous generation is missing.

In terms of power, the third-generation Superb uses Volkswagen EA2 1 1 model 1.4T and EA888 2.0T engines to match the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. In terms of configuration, safety devices such as blind zone warning, automatic braking and lane keeping are added, as well as Borgwarner's four-wheel drive system and DCC dynamic chassis suspension.

At the end of 20 15, SAIC Skoda introduced the third generation Superb into the China market. The third generation of Superb did not use the Chinese name Hao Rui, but adopted transliteration to name it Su Pai. In the early stage, Su Pai and Hao Rui were also sold in the market together. Later, Hao Rui stopped production, and Superb was Su Pai in China.
