The column "Follow Sima Guang in the Workplace" (vx Company's "Miscellaneous Stories of Time") once recorded such a story with a mirror:
In the seventeenth year of Yongping (74), after the defeat of the Han army, the court appointed him as the commander-in-chief of the western regions, a captain of Hubei, and Guan Chong as his own captain, each with 100,000 troops.
The following year, the main force of the Han army returned to Sene, and more than 20,000 tarkan attacked the car division. Geng Gongshuai rescued 300 people and was completely annihilated.
In June of the 18th year of Yongping (75), Geng Gong retreated here because Shule City was near the stream. In July, the Xiongnu besieged the city and cut off the stream. Sergeant Geng Gongshuai dug a well fifteen feet without water, and used horse manure juice to quench his thirst. After getting the water, the Huns thought that there was a divine man to help them and retreated.
In August, Emperor Han Ming collapsed. Knowing this, the driver thought that China had suffered a great loss and reinforcements could not come. He defected and attacked Geng Gongda with Xiongnu for several months. Geng Gongcheng ran out of food, leaving ten people to cook skin for food.
In November, Yanqi and Qiuci attacked Mu Chen, and Mu Chen died. The northern Xiongnu was surrounded by customs and was favored by Liu Zhongcheng. Guan Chong turned to China for help.
In the same month, more than 7,000 people sent troops to rescue the Han army and the Shanshan Allied Forces.
In the first year of the founding of the People's Republic of China (76), the Han army was defeated by Che, the northern Xiongnu was scared away, and Liu Zhongcheng was surrounded. Because Geng Gong is far away, the Han army wants to give it up. When Fan Qiang, an old minister of Geng Gong, joined the army, two thousand people were invited to save him. For Shule, only 26 people, including Geng Gong, are needed.
In March, we returned to Yumenguan, because of hunger and cold, only 13 people could enter the customs.
