Located in the east of Guangdong Province, in the middle of Chaoshan Plain, in the middle of Rongjiang River Basin, with Huang Qishan as its back and Rongjiang as its periphery. It now governs 17 towns (streets), including 205 villages (communities) with a total area of 347 square kilometers, with a registered population of about 10 1000 and a permanent population of about 1 120.
Rongcheng District is the political, economic and cultural center of Jieyang City, with profound cultural heritage and prosperous humanities. Jieyang County was established in the 10th year of Shaoxing in Song Dynasty (1 140), with a long history of more than 800 years, and is known as "Zou Lu on the seashore" and "Lotus on the water". Jieyang Dragon Boat Race
The custom of dragon boat race is widely popular in Lingnan water town, and it is an important part of the folk activities of Dragon Boat Festival in various places. Jieyang Dragon Boat Race has a long history. According to the Records of Huilai County written by Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty, the Dragon Boat Festival was held in Xigangtang to win the flag. According to local legend, Ding Richang, who settled in Jieyang in his later years, invited dragon boat races and awarded the Red Dragon to Mianshu Village in Jieyang under the banner of "Imperial Envoy Ding Shang". Jieyang Rongjiang Nanbei Erjiang, Lianjiang, Longjiang and other rivers are deep and long, suitable for dragon boat races, so dragon boat races are widely distributed in Rongcheng, Jiedong, Puning, Huilai and Yuhu in Jieyang.
