History of Shilong Station
Shilong Railway Station is the oldest railway station in Dongguan. In the third year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty (19 1 1), Shilong Railway Station was opened with the opening of Guangzhou-Kowloon Railway, and was once called Shilong Central Station. From1911015, Shilong Station became one of the fixed stops of the through train at that time because of adding water to the steam locomotive, and the parking time was the longest among all stations. However, on June 1949, 10 and 14, the through train service of Guangzhou-Kowloon was interrupted, and the China section of Guangzhou-Kowloon Railway was renamed as guangzhou-shenzhen railway. Although the through train service was resumed on April 4th 1979, the through train stopped at Shilong Station.

1925, when Chiang Kai-shek sent troops to crusade against warlord Chen Jiongming, the general headquarters of the crusade army led by Zhou Enlai and others was located in the carriage of Shilong Railway Station, and the sculpture of Sun Yat-sen inspecting Shilong Railway Station still stands at the entrance of the station.

Shilong Railway Station was expanded three times in 1984, 200 1 and 2006, and the passenger service stopped on 20 14 and 1.8. The passenger transport function was transferred to the new Dongguan Railway Station, and only the freight transport function was retained. At present, there are two freight yards in Shilong Railway Station.
