The History and Culture of Dawang Town
Dawang Town is the seat of ancient Taolin County and former Lingbao County, with a long history, rich Yellow River culture and modern civilization, rich natural and human resources, and more than 20 existing cultural relics protection units. Yangshao Five Emperors Cultural Site contains many pottery and cultural relics in the late Stone Age. The ancient village of JOE Shangshu in Shapo Village records the brilliance of four Shangshu, a group of scholars, juren and scholar of JOE family since the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty. The memorial hall of the Eight Rightists of the Anti-Japanese War is the historical epitome of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in the past eight years of the Chinese nation. Lingbao jujube garden along the Yellow River dates back to the Song Dynasty. With more than 4,000 mu of ancient jujube forest, it is still flourishing and fruitful. In contrast, the 5,000-mu lotus pond along the Yellow River is rich in red leaves and full of pastoral charm. The rich historical and cultural heritage, numerous humanistic allusions, picturesque scenery of the Yellow River, pure jujube country customs, famous products and special snacks have laid a solid foundation for Dawang's tourism.
