Zizhou County is located in the northern part of Shaanxi Province, in the hinterland of hilly and gully region of the Loess Plateau, and at the southern edge of Yulin City. The county seat was built in 1944, named after the famous revolutionary martyr Li Zizhou. The county has a total land area of 2,042 square kilometers, a total cultivated land area of 680,000 mu and a population of 289,500, including 267,000 agricultural people. The county has jurisdiction over 10 town, 12 township, 550 administrative villages and 9 neighborhood committees. The county belongs to the sub-arid area between the middle temperate zone and the warm temperate zone, and has the characteristics of continental monsoon climate. The annual average temperature is 9.2℃, the precipitation is 449. 1 mm, and the frost-free period is 164 days. Dali River and Huaining River in the county cross the central and southern parts of the country, forming a low-lying and fertile Sichuan Road area along the two rivers, which is known as the "Rice River". In memory of the revolutionary martyr Comrade Li Zizhou, it was named Zizhou County on 1944.
