Taiyuan has a history of more than 2,500 years, from the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Spring and Autumn Period in primitive society and slave society to the three tribes in Jin Dynasty. Zhao Yi Taiyuan is the capital, which opened the prelude of the Warring States Period and the beginning of the feudal society in China. After a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society, it entered a socialist society. In the long history of 2,500 years, Taiyuan, as the ancient capital of three dynasties and the capital of five dynasties, was once the hometown of Tang Yao, the famous city of Warring States, the hometown of Taiyuan, the northern Fu Ba, the northern gate of the Central Plains, the important town of Jiubian and the hometown of Shanxi merchants.

There are more than 200,000 historical and unearthed cultural relics in Taiyuan, including more than 20 kinds of pottery, bronzes, porcelain, calligraphy and painting.
