Interpretation of university terms
The ancient "universities" in China were generally called "Imperial College", also known as Shandong, Xu Dong, Youxue and Dong Jiao. They were official places for educating the children of princes and nobles. This is an ancient institution of higher education.

When Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, proclaimed himself emperor, the military did not rest, that is, culture and education were first promoted. Imperial College in the Eastern Han Dynasty was founded in October of the fifth year of Jianwu (AD 29). Emperor Guangwu of Han Dynasty set up imperial academy, visited Yaru and collected classic essays. Scholars from all directions came to Luoyang, the capital city, and established the Doctor of Five Classics.

In the sixth year of Yongjian (130), Shun Di, Emperor Gaozu, wrote: "There are 240 rooms, 1850 rooms". There are 165438+2000 workers every year, and the construction scale has reached an unprecedented level. By the time of Emperor Gaozu's wisdom, there were more than 30,000 students in the Imperial College.
