On the recommendation of my teacher, I recently watched the documentary "The Vicissitudes of the Right Path: 500 Years of Socialism" and wrote down some thoughts in the process of watching, so that I can understand and grasp this history and its changes in a more simple way.
Perfect Ideal-Utopia
In the ocean of human wisdom and thought, many philosophers set sail and struggled to find the ideal world of human beings, and Moore, the founder of Utopia socialism, described his ideal world-Utopia.
15 16 Thomas? The official publication of Moore's Utopia marks the birth of utopian socialism. Opened up a new era of socialism.
15 ~ 16 century, the new navigation channel, new land and new market brought by the great geographical discovery gave birth to the new bourgeoisie. Western European society has entered the period of primitive accumulation of capitalism, and the capitalist mode of production has developed from simple cooperation to handicraft workshops. 16 ~ 18 century, the capitalist mode of production developed more violently in the feudal society of western Europe, with great barbarity and cruelty. The slave trade and the enclosure movement of "sheep eating people" were called "written in the history of mankind with blood and tears" by Marx.
Moore was born in a noble family in England, and studied at Oxford University in England at the age of 14. He grew up to be an excellent lawyer. Because of his honest and kind character, he often helps civilians in lawsuits, so he has a clearer understanding of the dark reality of society. He began to look for the root of social evil. Moore, who couldn't find the answer at the moment, restricted the king's rights by legal means, but was forced to leave the parliament, so his political career came to an end temporarily.
Moore, who devoted himself to the study of humanities and social sciences, found that American Indians, who were still in the primitive commune stage, had the means of production, worked and distributed the means of subsistence equally, which was their ideal world. He wrote down his ideas. Utopia is divided into two parts. In the first part, he pointed out that the root of many social problems lies in human private ownership. He lashed out at feudal autocracy and mercilessly attacked the bloody accumulation process of capitalism. The second part describes utopia, an ideal world, and gives a comprehensive and vivid description of politics, economy, culture, education and social welfare. Public ownership of property is its greatest feature. "Moore opposed private ownership and proposed that property is * * *, but it is not public ownership. Property includes means of production and means of subsistence, and opposes private ownership, but it is unscientific because means of subsistence cannot be owned. " To some extent, this reflects the inevitable limitations of utopian socialism in its era.
Moore's Utopia concept is of pioneering significance in the history of modern socialist thought. That utopia became synonymous with utopian socialism in later generations.
Yan Zhiming, a professor at Peking University, said, "Utopia is a symbol. The utopian socialist ideological trend aroused by Moore has become synonymous with perfection, fantasy and pursuit, and has also inspired socialists in the United States and Europe."
Utopia, entrusted with a beautiful social ideal, embodies Thomas? The perfect ideal in Moore's heart. But the construction based on fantasy is ultimately futile. As the Great Gatsby said, "We are struggling to advance, but like sailing against the current, we are doomed to keep retreating."
