History of Hao Tong
When it comes to the battle of Changping, our first reaction is often how awesome it was to kill the gods in the Warring States period. In fact, he is really awesome. In the hundreds of years of fighting in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the total number of casualties reached 4 million, and Leitian killed more than 2 million people. Nobody dares to say that he is not awesome. However, in the battle of his life, the battle of Changping was undoubtedly the most outstanding one in his life, because he wiped out 450 thousand people in Zhao in World War I. In this war, a young general named Zhao Kuo undoubtedly carried a cauldron for the 450,000 Zhao troops.

When we mention Zhao Kuo (son of Zhao She, general Ma Fujun of Zhao State), we must think of an armchair strategist, but if you really think that Zhao Kuo can only talk on paper, it's all wet! Zhao Kuo didn't take part in commanding too many battles as a general, but it is very telling to convince Zhao She only by the art of war (disdain, dare not cheat). After all, Zhao She is not an ordinary general, and his position among the military commanders of Zhao State is not much lower than that of Lian Po, even higher, and these are all obtained by Zhao She with his military exploits.

Hao Tong word, to analyze why we may have wronged Zhao Kuo!

First of all, before Zhao Kuo went to war, Zhao didn't know that Qin had been replaced by Wang Bi (he). If they knew that coach Qin was, they wouldn't let Zhao Kuo be the commander directly. At the very least, they have to give him some reliable deputies.

Second, the military strength of Zhao is not much lower than that of Qin. King Wuling of Zhao's reform of riding and shooting made Zhao look brand-new, while King Wuling of Zhao's reform was mainly military, but he did not attach importance to agriculture. Therefore, Zhao's fighting capacity is very strong, which is one of the reasons why he is dissatisfied with Lian Po's failure to persist, because in his view, Zhao Mingming is not weaker than, why can't he fight head-on?

Third, Zhao is short of food. The population of Zhao is less than 5 million, and Zhao Junzu has 450,000 (more, the military and civilians add up to a conservative estimate of 650,000), which means that young people all over the country have gone to Changping, but who will farm the land? Moreover, Qin and Zhao confronted each other for two or three years in the battle of Changping. How can there be no famine in Zhao? How can Zhao Haoqi, Cheng Xiao or Zhao Kuo not rush to a decisive battle? Otherwise, the famine alone will destroy Zhao.

Fourth, before the battle of Changping, the general of Zhao was Lian Po. As an old general, Lian Po naturally has his own military cronies, but after Lian Po left office, his military cronies did not leave. In fact, after Zhao Kuo arrived in the army, he had a great problem with the command of the army, so that he had to replace a large number of middle-level generals to barely control Zhao. The reason is very simple, a little older generals will not take him, because he is too young, so young that everyone thinks that Zhao Kuo is here to send his head. More crucially, in the later period, the route for providing foodstuff for Zhao was cut off, and at the same time, Zhao was divided into two parts, which reduced the number of Zhao that Zhao Kuo could command by half. What do you want him to do?

Fifth, we only saw Zhao Kuo and Zhao defeated, and more than 200,000 of the 450,000 people were captured and all of them were raped and killed. But do you know how many people have lost under the leadership of the famous Wu? Bian Xiao quoted a passage from Leitian for everyone. Handan is really not easy to attack, and it will take a day to send troops after being saved. The princes hated Qin for a long time. Although Qin was broken today, more than half of the people were killed and wounded, and the country was empty. Our army is far away from others. If Zhao fights from the inside and the princes coordinate from the outside, he will be defeated. Therefore, we can't send troops to attack Zhao. This sentence was said by Bai Qi to Zhao Xiang, the king of Qin, in the Battle of Handan after the Battle of Changping. Obviously, we won the battle of Changping, but more than half of the casualties, and the country was ruined!

Sixth, ladies and gentlemen, Qin won, killing 200,000 people in Zhao, but still more than half of the casualties. According to Hao Tong, Qin invested more than 600,000 troops, which means that Qin won Zhao at the cost of at least 300,000 people. When Zhao Kuo first came to the battlefield, he could set such a record with the already famous Wu Anjun Tian Lei. Why do you say he is an armchair strategist?

Finally, some people may ask, it is so difficult for Zhao to supply food and grass for 450,000 people when fighting at home. Why does Qin have no shortage of food and grass when fighting for thousands of miles? Hao Tong didn't know this problem before, but after consulting ancient books, he found that Qin was related to four grain-producing areas in the middle of Bashu and the east of Hanshui, and the national policy of Qin was "plowing the fields". Besides, Qin can transport grain and grass to Hedong and Hanoi through the Weihe River and the Yellow River, so the distance is greatly shortened, and Zhao has to cross the dangerous roads in mountainous areas. It can be seen that Qin's logistics is not inferior to Zhao's in local operations, not to mention Qin's personal mobilization of civilian workers at the front, so Qin's course is also sad.
