Was there much civil strife in the Ming Dynasty?
If we exclude the large-scale peasant war in the late Ming dynasty, the number of civil strife in the Ming dynasty is not many, and the scale is generally not large (except the Jingnan War). Because mutiny, rebellion and peasant uprising are inevitable in any dynasty, the Ming Dynasty was relatively stable. The larger ones are the rebellion of Jingnan and Wangning, the rebellion of Xiangma, and the rebellion of Ningxia and Southwest Bozhou in the three expeditions of Wanli. In addition, pirates along the southeast coast can also be regarded as "civil strife" to some extent (because many of them are actually local pirates and maritime businessmen).
