Yueyang Dongting Lake Bridge is located at the intersection of Dongting Lake and the Yangtze River, connecting Dongting Lake Avenue and Yueyang 107 National Highway and Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway in the east and 306 Provincial Highway in the west. It is the longest inland highway bridge in China at present. The total length of the bridge is 10 173.82m, of which the bridge length is 5747.82m, the bridge width is 20m, and the west four lanes. It is the first cable-stayed bridge with three towers and double cable planes in China and the first cable-stayed bridge with prestressed concrete floating system with three towers and double cable planes with different heights in Asia. The wiring length is 4426m, of which the east wiring is 880m long and 50m wide, and the west wiring is 3546m long and 20m wide. The total investment of the bridge is 805.64 million yuan.
The bridge is advanced in design, novel, beautiful in appearance and advanced in technical requirements. It is the first time to adopt the main tower cable-stayed bridge structure system in China.
Since the construction started in February, the construction teams of 1996 and 10 and two supervision teams have participated in the construction of the bridge.
The main bridge deck is 52 meters high (Yellow Sea). The design navigation grade is Grade III. The main bridge is a prestressed reinforced concrete ribbed beam cable-stayed bridge with unequal height, three towers and double cable planes, with a span of130+310+310+130m. The cable tower is a double-chamber jewel-shaped section, with the middle tower height 125.684 m and the two towers height of 99.311m. The foundations of the three towers are 3 m and 3.2 m large-diameter bored piles. The approach bridge is a continuous beam bridge with a span of 20 to 50 meters and a foundation diameter of 1.8 and 2.5 meters. The bridge is advanced in design, novel, beautiful in appearance and advanced in technical requirements. It is the first time to adopt the main tower cable-stayed bridge structure system in China. Yueyang Dongting Lake Bridge is the first large-scale bridge of cable-stayed bridge with three towers with different heights in China, with advanced design and great construction difficulty, ranking first in Asia, and it is a major scientific research project of bridge industry in Hunan Province.
Dongting Lake Bridge is designed as a three-tower cable-stayed bridge with spatial double stay cables, and the main girder is constructed with a hanging basket at the front fulcrum. Through the field test, the stress of hanging basket under various working conditions is simulated, and a large number of calculation parameters about the stress performance and actual stiffness of hanging basket are obtained as construction control parameters. Based on the combined model element, the element stiffness matrix of separated double-ribbed flat beam of cable-stayed bridge is derived, and the spatial stress of Yueyang Dongting Lake Bridge is analyzed. The results show that the accuracy of the unit meets the engineering requirements and has accumulated successful experience in construction technology.
