History of Tsinghua University Institute of Civil Engineering and Water Conservancy
After the founding of New China, the departments of Chinese universities were adjusted 1952, and the civil and civil architecture design, building construction, water supply and drainage, heating and ventilation, and building materials were merged into Tsinghua University civil and civil architecture, with a schooling period of five years. In the same year, the Department of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering was established separately. 1960 merged with the Department of Architecture to form the Department of Civil Architecture.

1966 The "Cultural Revolution" broke out and enrollment was stopped for several years. 1970 recruit a class of workers, peasants and soldiers. In the same year, the Department of Civil Engineering was renamed as the Department of Architectural Engineering.

1977 resumed the unified examination and recruited the first batch of undergraduates after the cultural revolution, 1978 recruited the first batch of graduate students after the cultural revolution. 1979 HVAC major transferred to thermal energy engineering department. 1980 architecture engineering department is divided into architecture department, civil and environmental engineering department, 1984 civil and environmental engineering department is divided into civil and environmental engineering department. The Department of Civil Engineering added 1986 "Building Management".

In 2000, in order to meet the needs of the situation, the College of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering was established on the basis of the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, and the Department of Construction Management was established on the basis of their respective engineering management related majors.
