At first, they chose a residential building adjacent to Huaqiao Building on the east side of Haizhu Square. Later, they felt that the new site was too small, and they chose another site in the north of Haizhu Square. 1959, an eight-story Canton Fair building rose from the ground and stood by the Pearl River. With the expansion of the Canton Fair, it can't meet the demand after several years. The Canton Fair moved back to the Sino-Soviet Friendship Building, and after many large-scale renovations, it finally formed the Liu Hua Pavilion of the Canton Fair today. Now a brand-new exhibition hall-Pazhou Exhibition Hall has been built in Haizhu District, Guangzhou. Future trade fairs will basically be held here.
