Japanese planes bombed Huaicheng for the first time on May 23rd, 938 (April 24th of the lunar calendar). At about 10 in the morning, three enemy planes flew over Huaicheng and circled at low altitude to find the bombing target. Suddenly, it swooped down to the noisy south gate, making a deafening noise, and then dropped a blockbuster, which blew up the magnificent "Yingxun" gatehouse, inside the gate. Another bomb was dropped on Yuelai Inn and Jiangyuan Store in Yuxiang, killing and wounding six people and destroying three or four houses. The second bombing was on May 24th, 1938 (April 25th of the lunar calendar). At 9 am, the air defense alarm just sounded. 12 enemy planes circled low over Huai city, swooped into the city from the southeast corner, and dropped heavy bombs one by one. From Zhenhuaifu to the south gate, there are craters everywhere, and 100 people are hiding in the air-raid shelter of the stadium. The third bombing was on June 15 (the 18th day of the fifth lunar month). At 5 pm, six enemy planes flew over Huaicheng from the northeast at low altitude. This time, they mainly bombed Jinhua Temple Lane, Guo Tie Lane, Camus Lane, Renmin Lane, Taiping Street (Green Love Pavilion, Small Cangzhou Teahouse) and the Triangle Bridge in the southeast of the city. Suddenly, smoke filled the air, causing 50 or 60 casualties. These three days, the plane bombed the city, but it didn't go to the second hall of the grain delivery hall at all. In other words, people say that the Governor's Food Department was bombed by Japanese planes in the1930s, which is not true. So, what is the basis for people to say that it is gradually dismantled? With this question, the author visited the 80-and 90-year-old parties who lived at the entrance of the hospital (that is, at the entrance of the grain transportation company) or did business at the entrance of the hospital.
He Shaoxiong, 82, and Dai Qi, 68, recalled that the Second Hall of Cao Yun Hall was demolished by ourselves after liberation (referring to 1949). However, most people think that it was demolished when Huaicheng was liberated in June, 1945+00. Chen Wenhuai, an 83-year-old man who painted the sign of Grain Transportation Hall, recalled that the Grain Transportation Hall of the Governor's Department was demolished and transported by Liu Baoshan, president of Changsha Maintenance Department of Zhang Gui and Pseudo County, in the winter of 1942 or 1943, and Mr. Wang Xiaohe, 87, who lives in Jinhua Lane on both sides, recalled. Tu Zhaofu, aged 67, Wang Shurong, aged 83, Li Shousong, aged 79, Tao Maochun and Xu Zhennandu, aged 7 1, recalled that Huaicheng was demolished during the first liberation from September 65438 to September 10, and the materials were used to expand the stadium and transported to Yancheng. Huang, an 88-year-old bricklayer of the Central China Command of the New Fourth Army and the Water Transport Department of the Governor's Office of the Central China Bureau, recalled that the Daguan Building behind the Second Hall of the Water Transport Department of the Governor's Office was demolished by President Shao of Shangban Primary School around 1928, and the front of the Second Hall was damaged, but there were still people living there. 1945 In the late autumn, the New Fourth Army called and needed grenades for the battle, so the lobby and related temples were demolished, and all the wood was transported to Yancheng Military Department to make the handles of grenades, which made new contributions to defeating the Kuomintang. The rest of the houses are recorded in the Records of Huai 'an (February edition, 1998), page 73 1: Huai 'an Gymnasium was built in the early years of the Republic of China, and the site is in the back garden on the east side of the former Governor's Water Transport Department. Covering an area of 1000 square meters ... In the Republic of China 12 (923), a runway of 100 meters, half a stadium and a basketball court were built ... In the 35th year of the Republic of China (653), the New Fourth Army Department and Huai 'an Anti-Japanese Democratic Government allocated funds to expand the stadium, demolished some houses in the water transport department of the Governor's Office and built a 300-meter circular runway. The stadium was renamed "Ye Ting Stadium". After the founding of New China, it was changed to Zhuan 'an Stadium.
To sum up, the destruction of the grain delivery department of the Governor's Office was gradually dismantled in the 1940s.
