He Yong Town has a long history. According to historical records, Yonghe City is one of the 2 1 fairs formed in the county since it was established in the county from the second year of Changqing in Tang Dynasty (AD 822) to the 24th year of Guangxu (1898). "Shangyu County Records" records: "The natural town of Yonghe City is connected with Liang Long and Siming River (that is, the canal). It is at the crossroads of land and water transportation and is the distribution center of local products and other commodities in neighboring villages, which means permanent prosperity and harmony."

Yonghe is not only an ancient commercial port, but also a red ancient town. During the revolutionary war years, relying on the favorable terrain and the guerrilla column of Siming Mountain in eastern Zhejiang, groups of young people with lofty ideals embarked on the revolutionary road one after another, and 26 comrades became revolutionary martyrs before and after.

1949 After liberation in May, Yongcheng and Xuding townships were established; 1956, the two townships merged and became Yongxu Township; 1958 is the yongxu management office of chengguan people's commune; Yongxu Commune was founded in1961; 1984, political and social separation, changed to Yongxu Township; 1April, 1992, Yongxiu Township and Zhuxiang Township merged to establish a new town, He Yong Town. Yonghe village, the resident of the town government, is named after the resident.
