Wuxi scenic spot story
Wuxi Liyuan is located in Qingqi Village, on the west bank of Lihu Lake, 2.5 kilometers southwest of Wuxi. It is named after Lihu Lake. According to legend, in the Spring and Autumn Period more than 2,000 years ago, doctors from the State of Yue helped the King of Yue destroy Wu and went boating here with Beauty Stone. Later generations named the lake after Fan Li. Lihu Lake is relatively narrow, with an area of about 10 km, which is equivalent to 1.7 times that of Hangzhou West Lake. More than 300 meters long Jie Bao Bridge divides Lihu Lake into two parts. Its lakes and mountains are relaxed, desolate and majestic, and it has its own beautiful scenery. As early as the early years of the Republic of China, there were some simple scenic spots, such as "Xiangxue in Meibu", "Singing in the Willow Waves", "Xiao Chun in the South Embankment", "Watching Fish in Quyuan", "Watching Music on the Maple Terrace" and "Looking at the Moon", which were called "Eight Scenes of Clear Air".

In A.D. 1927, Wang Yuqing in Wuxi built a pear garden on the basis of the seven or eight scenic spots in the Qing Dynasty. The pear garden covers an area of 5.2 hectares, including 2.2 hectares of water. Visitors can visit the pear garden in three parts. Namely: the fake mountain area in the middle, the lakeside long dike and the Four Seasons Pavilion in the west, and the promenade, lake pavilion and overlapping shadow area in the east. The Four Seasons Pavilion is the main attraction of the pear garden. This pavilion was built in 1954, which means spring, summer, autumn and winter. The topics are: overflowing with red, dripping with green, getting drunk with yellow, planting Chun Mei in Yinbai Spring Pavilion, planting peach and bamboo in Summer Pavilion, planting osmanthus in Autumn Pavilion, and planting wintersweet in Winter Pavilion. There are flowers all year round, and they smell far away.

Through the Four Seasons Pavilion is Liu Di on the west side of the garden. In the southwest corner of the pavilion, there is a hexagonal pavilion built near the lake, called Wanghuting. Visitors can see the peaks of Lihu Lake and Shitang on one side of the exhibition hall. Wang Hu Pavilion has 12 wooden board with 60 colorful phoenixes carved on it, each led by a dragon. It's really auspicious and lifelike. In the north of the Four Seasons Pavilion is the famous "Thousand Steps Corridor", which twists and turns and is about 300 meters long. The leaky windows on the gallery wall are made of ceramic tiles, and there are 89 flower windows with different patterns, which are extremely negative for the charm of Jiangnan gardens. Su Shi, Min Nangong, writers of the Song Dynasty, and Wang Yangming, calligrapher of the Ming Dynasty, all left stone carvings of the pillars here for visitors to enjoy.

Liyuan is the most scenic spot in Lihu Scenic Area. Visitors to the lake view all stop here to enjoy the scenery. The long willow embankment, the promenade near the water, the exquisite bridge, the gorgeous pavilion, what a "layered shadow, snow waves, smoke green" picture!
