2. Infringement of the right of reputation: If the spread rumor infringes the right of reputation of others, it may involve a dispute of infringement of the right of reputation. According to article 1024 of China's Civil Code, civil subjects enjoy the right of reputation. No organization or individual may infringe upon the reputation right of others by insulting or slandering.
3. Fabricating and deliberately spreading false information: If the rumors spread are fabricating and deliberately spreading false information, it may constitute the crime of fabricating and deliberately spreading false information. According to Article 291 of China's Criminal Law, whoever fabricates a false danger, epidemic situation, disaster or police situation and spreads it on the information network or other media, or knowingly spreads it on the information network or other media, seriously disrupting social order, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention or public surveillance; If serious consequences are caused, they shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years.
