What is the historical origin of Myrica rubra?
Myrica rubra belongs to Myrtaceae arboretum. Also known as Shengshengmei, Baitimei and Shu Mei, it has high medicinal and edible value and is distributed in East China, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Guizhou. Myrica rubra is native to China. The discovery of Myrica rubra pollen in Hemudu site of Neolithic Age in Yuyao, Zhejiang Province shows that Myrica rubra grew in this area more than 7000 years ago. There are more than 50 species in this genus. Myrica rubra, Myrica rubra, Myrica rubra and Myrica rubra are all found in China, and the economic cultivation is mainly Myrica rubra.
