Jianshui ancient city in Yunnan has a long history, with large well-preserved ancient buildings. In ancient times, it was called Butou, also called Badian. During the Nanzhao period of the Tang Dynasty, Huili City was built, which belonged to the Governor's Office of Tonghai. When the Song Dynasty arrived in Dali, it belonged to Abai Department of Xiushan County, and Jianshui State was established in Yuan Dynasty, which was called Lin 'an House in Ming Dynasty. During the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, Shuizhou was rebuilt as Jianshui County.
