The origin of Panxian county
I don't know about Panjiang, but Panxian now belongs to Liupanshui, not a separate county. The name of Liupanshui comes from the initials of Liuzhi (formerly Langdai County), Panxian County and Shuicheng.

From 65438 to 0964, the State Council decided to develop the "Qianxi Coalfield" located in Liuzhi, Panxian and Shuicheng counties.

In order to adapt to large-scale development and construction, in February 1965, the State Council approved the establishment of Liuzhi, Panxian and Shuicheng mining areas, in February 1966, and approved the transformation of these three mining areas into three special zones integrating government and enterprise, and in June 1970, Liupanshui area was composed of three special zones.

1987 The Shuicheng Special Zone was abolished and divided into Shuicheng County and Zhongshan District.
