Xiaoqing River Bridge was an old bridge before 1950, reinforced by 1957, demolished and rebuilt by 1958, and opened to traffic in August of the same year. It is a highway bridge across Xiaoqing River, connecting Qiaoxi Street and Zhoukoudian Road, with a length of about160m. Xiaoqing River Bridge is a young bridge, which adopts modern more scientific and advanced construction technology.

It is worth noting that just a year ago, Beijing also organized a tender for the maintenance and overhaul of Xiaoqing River Bridge. On July 3, 2023, Kloc-0, Xiaoqing River Bridge on the west side of Lugou Bridge partially collapsed due to the flood diversion of Yongding River. Afterwards, the relevant departments of the district have rushed to the scene to carry out emergency treatment to ensure the safety of personnel. After preliminary verification, the collapse of the bridge caused five cars parked on the bridge to fall into the water.

Introduction of Lugou Bridge, a bridge near Xiaoqing River Bridge;

Lugou Bridge is a famous stone arch bridge in China with a history of more than 800 years. After laying the foundation stone in the twenty-ninth year of Jin Dading, rebuilding in the thirty-seventh year of Qing Kangxi, and being baptized by wind and rain for hundreds of years, it has always stood firm on the river. It can be said that Lugou Bridge not only represents the wisdom of ancient craftsmen in China, but also shows the craftsmanship of China people to the world.

Lugou Bridge took three years to build, with a total length of 267 meters and a width of 9.5 meters. The whole bridge is a stone structure, and the deck is solid granite. The most distinctive method is pier construction. The plane of the pier is boat-shaped, and the water-facing side is built with a diversion tip, and each tip is equipped with a triangular iron column with an acute angle of about 26 cm, commonly known as "Dragon Sword". It is this design that makes the Lugou Bridge face the flood, reducing the impact pressure of the flood, and making bridge opening not easy to be blocked.
