Nayong County is located in the northwest of Guizhou Province, south of Bijie City, across the river from Dafang County. Its geographical coordinates are10455' 40 "-10538' 04" and 26 30'16 "-27 05' 54" north latitude. The total area is 2452.32 square kilometers. Because there is a Nayong River in the south of the county, Nayong is the name of the county (also taking the meaning of Namin Yongxi).
